Dadaist Cut-up Writing Night

At this event we will be utilizing the cut-up technique, a Dadaist creative writing method first described by Tristan Tzara in 1920.

WHEN: Wednesday, Nov. 19th, 6:30-8pm
WHERE: DADA Bar, 60-47 Myrtle Ave, Ridgewood
INFO: Upon entry, you will find a large chalice full of folded up pieces of paper; Verbs, nouns, adjectives, etcetera. (As well as a bonus bowl full of sentences if you're really stuck!) Ideally, you will pick at least three words from the chalice, though, you are free to pick more! Then, write using the words you’ve just picked up. At the end there will be an optional 5-10 spare minutes for anyone who feels inclined to share what they’ve written.

Also feel free to disregard the Dadaism if you just want to write! It’s an hour and a half of dedicated time with some nice background music and great drinks. Everyone is welcome :) Cut-up words, some spare paper and pencils will be provided.
